Personal:

400m/800m competitively in track in high school.  Took 15 years off. Started running again in 2010.  Married to my beautiful wife, Tiffany, with 2 little boys.  6' tall and fluctuate around 150lbs.  I'm a civil engineer working for the Indiana DOT in Seymour, IN.   I live in a slightly larger town about 20 miles north - Columbus, IN.  Originally from Lexington, KY.

1 hour on the roads around Dad's cabin at Barren River.  5.5 miles pretty slow and tired at about 5:30a.  Apparently there's a 12 hour ultra around the area that I didn't know about.  maybe next year

Lake Cumberland Half.  Warm and Hilly:  Decent for first 5 miles... :)

Fitness is... not good?  IDK whats going on.  Been doing a decent amount of training at this point.  Nothing specific, but, certainly enough to expect better than this result.  Lots of hard effort to maintain 7 minute pace over the last 10k or so.  1:27:3x for 4th place

Anyway, it was great to see the KY crew, and finally see Nathan's beautiful new home on the lake!  Got to hang a little bit with him and his family at post race awards.

Mill Race Marathon.  6th year in a row running the full in the hometown race.  Coming in to the race with a realistic assessment of fitness.  Fortunately, a cooler morning throughout the race.  Good running with a fella who has become running friend most of the race, also.

2nd 10mi.: 6:44, 7:01, 6:53, 6:51, 6:47, 6:56, 7:00, 6:57, 6:59, 7:06, and

the dreaded last 10k:  7:00, 7:13, 7:21, 7:41, 7:46, 7:36, 0.52 in 7:47 pace

Pretty poor finish - going from 7th place dropping to 14th place
